Railway Police Handcuffs

Item  #49    $100  USD

This is a functioning set of Hiatt’s “Darby-style” handcuffs.  Steel, not chromed.  Key intact and marked, “Hiatt No. 11”.  The cuffs bear a stamped serial (or inventory)  number of “98”.  The are stamped    “N E R” which indicates they were used by North Eastern Railway police.  The N.E.R. was incorporated in 1854 and existed under that name until 1923 when it merged with several other railways.  Nice age patina, some rust spots.
