Collectible Specimens, Oddities & Mysteries
When pursuing the collection of British police memorabilia one sometimes encounters specimens, oddities and mysteries. A specimen piece is usually a perfect (or near-perfect) example of many like objects. An oddity might be one of several things ... it could be a one-of-a-kind prototype, it could be an altered piece, a counterfeit, or just a "what is it?" Unfortunately, Sherlock Holmes isn't around to help us with the mystery pieces. These are the ones that might involve being both a specimen and/or an oddity, but they also fall into that category of being strange and inexplicable and often, a genuine puzzle. This is the introduction page to The Constabulary's collectible specimens, oddities and mysteries.
